Alex’s story is a heartbreaking one. His mother abandoned him and left him in the care of his grandmother. She did her best to provide for him, but as Alex grew older and heavier, it became increasingly difficult for her to carry him on her back. Overwhelmed by frustration and despair, she eventually left him alone in a room for several days. The Precious In His Sight coordinator rescued Alex and welcomed him into her own home, where he began living with her family at great personal sacrifice. Although caring for a child with special needs can often lead to rejection from the community, Alex’s radiant smile and joyful personality gradually won the hearts of those around him.
