Opening Doors to Education in Liberia

You Can Change a Child’s Future

Every desk filled, every lesson taught, and every dream encouraged is made possible by friends like you. When you support Teamwork Africa, you’re not just funding a school—you’re opening the door to hope, opportunity, and a brighter future for children in Liberia. Together, we can keep classrooms open, expand to new communities, and remind every child that they are deeply loved and valued.

Teamwork Africa’s Education Program

In Liberia, rising tuition costs put quality education out of reach for many families. In 2022, Teamwork Africa’s Peggy Halvorsen had a dream—to start a school where children could receive both an excellent education and be reminded of their God-given worth. When a closed church school became available for lease, God opened the door.

That school became Imago Dei Elementary—Latin for Image of God—a place where students receive a quality Christian education and are taught that each person is created in God’s image and worthy of love and respect. By setting tuition at a reasonable rate, we make education accessible for more families. In 2025, we expanded to include seventh grade, with the goal of reaching ninth grade in the future.

God has continued to multiply opportunities. This 2025–2026 school year, we are adding a second school in partnership with our friend James Vah, who owns a beautiful pre-K–12 campus. Teamwork Africa will operate the school for the next 10 years. Plans are also underway for a third school on the future site of the Mercy House, a safe home for at-risk girls that will also provide job training. Additionally, we are laying the groundwork for a fourth school in a developing community—starting small, with the vision to grow alongside the community itself.

From one school to four, God is using Teamwork Africa to open doors for children to learn, grow, and thrive in Liberia.
