SPONSOR: Starfish Kids Program

The Starfish Story:

A man was walking along the beach one morning and saw a child up ahead, As he got closer, he saw a boy reaching down, picking up something and gently throwing it into the ocean. As he got closer he called out, "Good morning! What are you doing?"The boy paused, looked up and replied, "Throwing starfish in the ocean."
The curious man countered, “Why are you throwing starfish in the ocean?" The child replied, "The sun is up and the tide is going out. And if I don't throw them in they'll die."
Full of frustration, the man answered, "But, young man, don't you realize that there are miles and miles of beach and starfish all along it. You can't possibly make a difference!"The boy listened politely, then bent down, picked up another starfish, threw it out past the breaking waves, turned back to the man and said, "It made a difference for that one."

Many children in Liberia are in abject poverty due to losing one or both parents. Their single parent or other caregiver is unable to provide for their daily needs.

Starfish Kids is a sponsorship program to meet the daily needs of these children.  Each of our Starfish children have lost at least one parent, and many have lost both. In addition, most of the children's mothers are widows. Each story is unique. Each child is precious.

For a little more than $1.50 a day, a child can have regular meals with a little left over for extra needs. This sponsorship money goes to the partnering church which purchases the food or distributes the funds. A full sponsorship is $50/month, or you can co-sponsor a child for $25/month.
