Teamwork Africa Medical Outreach Vision: To present the gospel of Christ to the unsaved using medical outreach.
Three Focus Areas:
- Mobile Medical Clinics
- Village Health Care Workers
- New Life Medical Center
Mobile Medical Clinics
The Mobile Medical Clinic outreach is a rotating clinic that is offered once a month to interior villages of Bong County. These mobile clinics provide basic medical needs such as assessment, basic physical and spiritual care and arranging for referrals and transportation for further care. The Modem Medical Outreach team typically uses the village church as the medical center so people see that the church is involved. The Mobile Medical Outreach is overseen by the regional medical facility but is primarily staffed by trained Village Health Care Workers.
Village Health Care Workers
There are currently twelve Village Health Care Workers from four different villages who have been trained to provide basic medical assistance such as assesment and treatment of minor illnesses and coordinating referrals and transportation when greater care is needed to help assess and treat minor illnesses before they become life threatening. They are an outstanding group of young Liberian's that want to help their people and are hoping to have an opportuity for more medical training in the future. Pictured below are three of the Village Health Care Workers.
New Life Medical Center
The New Life Medical Center is a base for the mobile medical clinics and also provides basic care and baby/birthing care. We also envision it becoming a regional hospital offering more advanced care for patients and also providing space to educate prospective medical students to increase the number of health care workers in the region. It quickly outgrew its original space and has begun construction on a new building.
